Have you nominated? PRO-ACTIVE London Awards closing soon
The PRO-ACTIVE London Awards are the only awards that celebrate the contribution of thousands of people, the majority of which are volunteers, who make it possible of Londoners to take part in sports and activities.
With the Olympics now less than 3 years away, sport is taking centre stage and it is these people who work tirelessly to improve the provision of sporting opportunities within the capital providing activities, clubs and events for people of all ages. The PRO-ACTIVE London awards are an opportunity to reward these people for their efforts.
Phil Morgan has been the Chairman for Kilburn Cosmos RFC over the past 6 years and has increased the opportunities to get involved in rugby in Brent. As well as growing a tag section for girls and boys, Phil is now developing a youth rugby programme. Phil has built up a team of coaches and volunteers by linking with the Met Police and Fire Brigade and been a key player in seeing the clubs home grounds improve.
The west had more success with Andy Flint, a committed Rugby Football League Community Sports Coach who has delivered coaching to over 4000 participants. Not only has Andy worked in school settings, but in local clubs, with young offenders at Feltham prison and at elite levels within the RFL.
The 2008/09 award were held on the 27th March 2009 at Lords Cricket ground. Beijing Olympic rowing Gold Medalist was on hand to address the guests.
Simon Lister, Director of PRO-ACTIVE West London said “The PRO-ACTIVE London Awards evening is a fantastic celebration of the unsung heroes, who give so much to sustain and grow sports participation across London. Amateur sport couldn’t survive without the dedication and enthusiasm of these people.”
The 2009/2010 award ceremony will be held at the Brit Oval on Friday 23rd April 2010. The top 3 nominees in each award category will be invited to attend the award ceremony along with distinguished guests from the Sporting world.
